Rohan is a queer Indo-Canadian theatre and dance artist with practices spanning choreography, directing, curation and producing, and works internationally across North America and Europe.
Outside Ricochet
Rohan is a proud Sheridan College BA musical theatre and Queen’s University arts management diploma alum, and has recently completed his MFA in Transdisciplinary Creative Practice at Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London.
Recent credits that have brought him joy and growth include Venus & Adonis (director/choreographer/producer; Theatre Oculus/Toronto Fringe), Chicago (choreographer; Cawthra Productions), White Muscle Daddy (assistant director; Buddies in Bad Times Theatre), The Pelican (assistant director; NAMT Festival of New Musicals), and The Lost Museum (curator; CreativeHub 1352). He is an Associate Artist with contemporary dance theatre company Frog in Hand, and a recipient of the Alan Lund Scholarship for Choreography (Charlottetown Festival) and the MARTY Award for Emerging Dance Artist (Mississauga Arts Council).
Rohan’s overall practice and ongoing artistic research promotes action-inciting discussions surrounding civic engagement and justice, anti-oppressive practices in the arts, and decentralising power in creative and institutional processes.
